Model M2 Installation Guide
The M2 is a "dial capture" cellular tarnsmitter designed to send the central station a PRE-SET 8 digit account number.
To determine the pre-set account number, simply add the 2 digit prefix “M2” to the 6 digit serial number printed on the side of the transmitter.
Example: Device with the serial number 123456 will be pre-set to report into the monitoring center as M2123456.
The matching central station account number for each device will already have been prebuilt in your Dealer Account as "INACTIVE" and is accessible using Dealer access.
After 30 days, each M2 device will be charged the monthly $2.00 or $3.00 discounted cellular fee per month based on your dealer contract standing.This fee will automatically begin the following month regardless if it is being used or not.
Suspension or reactivation of a M2MA service can be done by emailing email@example.com. However, a $24.95 fee will be charged to reactivate the M2M transmitter in the future. In almost ALL cases, your better served to simply reuse the transmitter and update the database as needed.
- The M2 device will ONLY work when the alarm panel is programmed for contact ID.
- You MUST program in a 'phoney' receiver number such as 8009999999 or similiar. (This will be overridden by pre-programmed cellular number.)
- You MUST program in ANY 4 digit account number into your alarm panel from 1111 to 9999. (This will be overridden by the pre-programmed account number.)
DO NOTconnect the Tip or Ring wires to an active phone line or it will damage the unit.
Once M2M is connected, a RED LED will come on. Slow Flashing = Trying to establish cell connection. Constantly On = Connected with good signal Constantly On w/ Blinking 5 sec. = Connected with low signal Fast Flashing = Transferring Alarm Data
Be sure to place the pre-set account number ON TEST before installation and testing.
Red = + 12V DC (Positive)
Gray = - 12V DC (Negative)
Yellow = Tip (Directly From Panel*)
Green = Ring (Directly From Panel*)
White =IN1 (Remote Arm/Disarm)
Orange = OUT1 (Remote Panel Status)
W-A-R-N-I-N-G - DISCONNECT ALL TELCO WIRING FROM PANEL TIP/RING/T1 & R1 TERMINALS BEFORE CONNECTING M2 DEVICE TO PANEL – ACTIVE PHONE LINE WILL DAMAGE UNIT VOIDING WARRANTY.
This device can also be used for interactive arming/disarming by connecting the WHITE & ORANGE wires to the alarm panel.
To enable the optional remote optional arm/disarm feature from a smart phone, please configure the alarm panel as follows:
Configure a momentary keyswitch function (Refer to the panels installer manual.)
Wire the OUT1 of the M2 to the momentary keyswitch of the panel.Configure a PGM output of the panel to active (Switch to ground) when the panel is armed and to deactivate when disarmed. (Refer to panel installation manual.)
Wire that PGM to the IN1 of the M2.
The END USER must download the M2 user app under the named "M2M Services Ltd" (RESIDENCE CONTROL) using their smart phones app download service or by using the SCAN option below:
Once downloaded, create account by entering the RControl App Credentials provided with the M2 device when shipped. (NOTE: If credentials are lost, please contact tech support below to replace.)
